And it’s so light that in a tight spot, you could easily gaffer tape it into a hidden spot for that perfect soft light in any situation.

BIGSOFTI is really bright. We can’t really cite an exact figure at this stage - as once we go into final production, further fine tuning is going to take place as we balance the final injection moulded diffusion panel and the LED output. This can’t happen until we have the tooling and can begin to do refined testing around the material makeup of the panel. At that stage we’ll have our final lab testing done and can share all the output info. So just cautious about claiming a figure that will likely change prior to shipping. But we currently aren’t using the LEDs at their max output by a long shot. So, it’s got a lot of punch. But we’re also focussed on achieving a super high clarity of light output, not just lumen output.

It has 3 settings - LOW - MED - HIGH - that can be easily selected to get the desired illumination.

HIGH Use for lighting a bigger area, a group chat or group photo. This is so bright, it can used as exterior daylight fill. MED Use in a vibrant busy space, or for taking photos of more than one subject. This will probably be your regular evening setting. LOW Use for intimate low lit settings like a restaurant or a corner of a darker bar or club.

We’ve made BIGSOFTI as big as possible so it can throw lovely soft light - while giving it a similar sized footprint to your smartphone. It is 110mm wide, 54mm high and 12mm thick. When it comes to lighting - bigger is definitely better.

BIGSOFTI allows full control of your lighting so can switch between 3 settings:

1 - Clean White This is the default setting and will be the right choice in most situations. It sits in between the DAYLIGHT and the TUNGSTEN to give a subtle clean mix.

2 - Daylight This is the cooler coloured white. It would be used typically outside during the day where there is predominantly daylight filling in the shot. Or inside to light a subject who is backlit from exterior windows.
